For the third year in a row, the Civic Center CBD is partnering with the SFMTA and Impark to offer the popular $5 Flat Event Rate program at Civic Center Garage for the holidays season. Since 2015, SFMTA staff have made several improvements at the Civic Center Garage:
- the Civic Center Community Benefit District has added a guard in the elevator lobby on Tue-Sat evenings, from 6:00 to 11:00 pm to provide a safe presence for patrons;
- New brighter stairwell lighting;
- Three new elevators to all parking levels;
- New directional signage package has been installed helping people orient themselves when inside the garage.
For the past three years, the Civic Center CBD has organized quarterly meetings between local arts organizations and the parking staff of the SFMTA to discuss parking, pedestrian safety and vehicle and patron patterns in Civic Center for both the Performing Arts Garage (PAG) and the Civic Center Garage (CCG).
This partnership has been successful and continues to grow the number of customers who feel comfortable parking at Civic Center. The goal is to improve the overall experience for patrons who visit our neighborhood. On deck for 2017, a new ticketing system for both garages that will allow for validations and coordination with the area box offices.
SFMTA and ImPark have agreed to a fixed $5 EVENT Rate at Civic Center garage for the following evenings. Since it is a flat rate, people pre-pay which makes leaving that much quicker.
