The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA), which oversees the Municipal Railway (Muni), advises Muni customers about its ongoing state of good repair work on the Muni Metro system. Over the course of seven weeks starting on August 20, 2012, the SFMTA will replace the metal roll-up station entrance doors at the Van Ness Muni Metro station. At least one entrance will be available at all stations during the work.

The door replacement project at the three stations is taking place according to the following schedule:

  • Van Ness Station – northeast entrance Tue., Sept. 4 through Fri., Sept. 14 (by Walgreens)
  • Van Ness Station – southeast entrance Mon., Sept.17 through Fri., Sept. 28 (by One South Van Ness)
  • Van Ness Station – northwest entrance 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. daily from Mon., Oct. 1 to Fri., Oct. 19 (by All Star Cafe)
  • Van Ness Station – southwest entrance Mon., Oct. 15 through Fri., Oct. 26 (by Honda Dealer)

The work hours will be 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Muni Metro service will continue in operation and none of the stations will be closed due to the construction.
