San Francisco Design Week

BACK TO PROJECT LIST

San Francisco Design Week was created in 2003 through a proclamation to bring attention to all genre of design in the Bay Area. The following year, AIGA SF, the professional association for design, expanded the concept to include partnerships with related professional associations in architecture, product design, and others to include a week-long series of events.

Fifteen years later, San Francisco Design Week is a community event led by a team of advisors and a core committee which represents the diversity of design disciplines in the Bay Area. AIGA SF still spearheads the planning and logistics of Design Week.

The San Francisco chapter of AIGA is one of the biggest and most active in the country. Run by an Executive Director and a volunteer board of directors including President Lily Shen, the organization celebrates design and provides unparalleled opportunities for networking within the local design community and a variety of resources to advance professionalism and broaden knowledge. AIGA SF’s events stimulate discourse and enrich the collective experience of design.
